Our Honda Cadets are really leading the way when it comes to silverware in the Global Karting team. Young Theo Micouris has only just come off his novice plates (The first 5 MSA races require you to start at the back of the grid, Novices display white numbers on black backgrounds so they are easy to spot). He has impressed from the start and has worked closely with Mike Spencer and Rob Hanscomb to develop his confidence and race craft. Since joining the team there has not been any doubt over his abiltiy and pace for someone with such little experience he has exceeded expectations!
This was highlighted at the ultra competitive April PFI Meeting (this was the same meeting as the LGM X30 senior drivers). after qualifying 18th he moved up the grid in the pre-final and Final. Finishing 14th overall and beating 11 other Rookies to secure a wel deserved 1st place Rockie prize.
His laptime in the final was also good enough to see him being able to compete with the boys in the top 10 and with years more experience.
A special mention should also go to Theo's Mechanic (AKA Dad) who with only 1 hours sleep managed to make sure the kart was bolted together and performing as it should be. Dino Micouris WELL DONE!
Our young cadet team will be real force as the season goes on, especially when young Josh Irfan can race in the MSA events and all 3 can work together in the races.
